Well attending the University of Minnesota, I was elected to be on the 2024 Homecoming Court during my junior year. The experience on the Homecoming Court allowed me to not only connect with new people but deepened by appreciation for the University through giving back to my community, networking with alumni and engaging with a variety of events.
During winter break of my junior year in college, from December 2024 to January 2025 I studied abroad through the University of Minnesota's leadership minor program. The program was called Leadership & Social Change in Ireland where I visited cities in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Through this opportunity I was able to learn about different historical and political events while visiting Trinity College in Dublin and Queens University in Belfast. The program predominately focused on the "Troubles" in Northern Ireland, the complex relationship between Ireland and the United Kingdom, the two major parties in Northern Ireland, The Brexit, segregation and conflict between Catholics and Protestants and more.
First full day in Dublin, Ireland.
